November 21: Here At The Western World
I am very happy to report that the shows on this tour have so far
been thrilling. Not only beacause the rooms have been packed with
great and generous audiences, but also because I am so pleased
with playing some of the new stuff. Honestly, it excites me. Thank
you all for coming out to listen. And know that next time I will
bring a band. Which - just so you all understand - will sound completely
different from my one man band business. It's another bag and another
band you know. It's got actual musicians involved.
Besides the shows at night I have posed for pictures and spoken
about speaking in public, in public. Very useful. At one photo
shoot there was a hair guy, who together with the photographer
decided he wanted to cut my hair. And all that just for this one
freakin' page in a girly mag (no, not that kind of girly mag).
Of course I objected. Twice, even. And, anyway, I cut my hair last
week and for once I feel confident on the length of hair left on
my head by the hair dresser. It doesn't happen that often anymore.
I will not let the hair guy and the press preasure me into destroying
what I have. But except for this, I found the photo thing amusing.
I am going to a soundcheck in Detroit now, a bandit town if there
ever was one. The past shows up here have been okay but awkward.
I expect little else tonight, which will make the evening all the
more exciting.
Have a bandit evening yourself, if you will.
But take care.
