We’re thrilled to report that Sondre’s fall U.S. tour ended on a high note, with a smashing finale at the Music Hall of Williamsburg, in Sondre’s own stomping grounds of Brooklyn, New York. And stomp it he did, as evidenced by this pair live reviews of the tour’s final show.

“He sings, the audience sings and there’s this really lovely, intimate moment of quiet harmonies between us all…. The song was the cherry on top of an already fantastic show sundae. Whether by himself or with a band, a Sondre show never fails to make me smile. I left the venue grinning ear to ear.”

“By the time the show was over, it truly felt like Lerche had turned the room into his own house full of friends. His music is big and the full-band show proved him to be a full fledged rock n roll guy.”

We’re thrilled to announce that SPIN has posted an exclusive premiere of the new official video for the single “Domino,” from Sondre Lerche’s self-titled debut album. For this video, Sondre teamed with his wife, Mona (for whom his record label is also named).

“For the below clip for single “Domino,” she sat in the director’s chair, cutting between downcast shots of Mr. Lerche prowling the suburbs and footage of a group of young girls at home somewhere nearby. It’s moody, it’s downcast, it boasts a few shades of Eugenides in ways you might have seen before. But stick around for everything to come unhinged just as Lerche takes off on that nasty, ill-tempered solo in the coda. It’s one hell of a monument to marital teamwork.”

As he preps for his upcoming fall U.S. tour, Sondre was recently approached by streaming music site MOG and asked to curate a pre-show playlist, featuring some of his favorite tunes to listen to before he takes the stage.

The resulting playlist is as eclectic as you might imagine coming from Sondre, spanning artists from Lykke Li (“Sounds really good in the room before we go on stage”) to the Velvet Underground (“Had to hear it in the wonderful Bill Cunningham New York documentary to really appreciate it. So very moving.”).
